sffd_firefighters.jpgA fire at a bar in San Francisco’s Noe Valley neighborhood earlier this month has been deemed accidental, although the exact cause remains a mystery, a fire department spokeswoman said today.

Investigators were not able to determine what sparked the one-alarm fire, which was reported shortly before 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 4 at the Bliss Bar, located at 4026 24th St., fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 1:44 p.m.

The fire re-ignited sometime around 8 p.m., and firefighters returned to the scene, dousing the flames by 8:36 p.m., Talmadge said.

The blaze caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the building and $75,000 in damage to property inside, Talmadge said.

No one was injured in either fire, she said.

The Bliss Bar remains closed. A message on its website states that the owners plan to rebuild but that “the repairs could take quite a while.”
