A man who was fatally shot in San Francisco’s Crocker Amazon neighborhood early Monday morning has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 43-year-old Daniel Colon.

Officers responded at about 12:05 a.m. to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Naples Street.

Police arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds, including Colon, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim, a 34-year-old man, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Investigators are searching for a suspect described only as a white or Hispanic man who was wearing dark clothing, according to police.

Police have not released any other information about the suspect or a possible motive for the shooting.

Several people have posted about Colon’s death on social media sites.

One woman wrote on Facebook, “Rip Daniel Colon so sorry to see U go so soon, life is not fair. God is definitely gaining a special person.”
