shooting_nighttime.jpgA man was shot in the finger during a fight in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said today.

The shooting was reported around 9:20 p.m. near Eighth and Mission streets.

Three suspects approached the 21-year-old victim and an argument ensued, according to police.

The argument turned physical, and during the fight, the victim was shot in the finger, police said. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for his wound.

The suspects fled and had not been found as of this morning. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
