cover-crosswalk.jpgA pedestrian who was killed when she was hit by two cars in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Friday evening has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 44-year-old Melissa Kitson.

Kitson, a San Lorenzo resident, was struck at about 5:45 p.m. while crossing the street near Seventh and Howard streets.

The drivers of both cars involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

Kitson worked as an accountant at nearby marketing firm Red Bricks Media, located on Folsom Street near Seventh Street, according to company officials.
