5:08 AM: Power has been restored to the San Francisco Municipal Railway subway system this morning after crews worked overnight to correct a short in the electrical system, a Muni spokesman said.
All subway trains were shut down Monday evening due to an electrical signaling problem resulting from a blown transformer. The transformer blew near the Van Ness station at about 5:45 p.m. on Monday leading to the service outage, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.
2:33 AM: San Francisco Municipal Railway subway service will resume this morning as crews continue working to correct the short in the electrical system, a Muni spokesman said.
All subway trains will run as normally scheduled beginning at 5 a.m., with the exception of the J-Church, and N-Judah lines, which will not continue inbound past Duboce and Church streets. Passengers will need to transfer to another inbound line to commute downtown this morning, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

The transformer was part of Muni’s infrastructure, Rose said. PG&E responded and checked their equipment but did not find a problem, but assisted Muni in making repairs, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
