shooting_nighttime.jpgA man was shot while standing in front of a liquor store in San Francisco’s Mission District early this morning, police said.

The shooting was reported at 12:58 a.m. near 24th and Shotwell streets.

The victim was approached by a suspect in his early 20s who shot him in the torso and then fled in a black vehicle, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect had not been found as of this morning. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
