Reminder: Sunday Meter Operation to Start January 6, 2013
Beginning Sunday, January 6, all parking meters will operate on a seven-day-a-week basis. Sunday meters will operate from noon to 6 p.m. throughout the city, except at Fisherman’s Wharf. Meters at Fisherman’s Wharf will continue to operate Monday to Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All meters will have at least four hour time limits on Sunday. Meters in the Port of San Francisco jurisdiction (along the waterfront and some side streets) will continue to operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

On January 6, 13 and 20, Parking Control Officers will issue reminders, not citations, on cars at expired meters. All meters will provide a pre-payment option for occasions that start in the morning and run into the afternoon. As part of the Sunday meter plan, the remaining one hour time limits in San Francisco that are operational Mondays through Saturdays will be converted to two hour limits throughout the city, making time limits more consistent throughout the city.
