shooting_nighttime.jpgA man who thought he was helping a woman with her broken-down car was instead robbed at gunpoint by her and three other suspects early Monday morning in San Francisco’s Laurel Heights neighborhood, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 12:50 a.m. in the first block of Masonic Avenue.

The 41-year-old victim was approached by the woman who asked for assistance with her car, according to police.

Shortly afterward, three other suspects approached and one pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s property, police said.

The man handed over his wallet and cellphone and the woman and three men, all believed to be in their 20s, ran away. They had not been found as of this morning, according to police.

The victim was not injured in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
