sfpd_squad.jpgA woman was pistol-whipped and robbed in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood on Monday evening, police said today.

The suspect, described as a male about 20 years old, approached the 36-year-old victim at about 5:50 p.m. in the 800 block of McAllister Street, which is near Webster.

Holding a handgun inside a plastic bag, he told the victim to drop all of her property, then struck her in the head with the gun, police said.

He then fled with the woman’s purse, which contained her wallet and keys, according to police. He had not been found as of this morning.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for a head injury that is not considered life-threatening, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
