wave.jpgThe U.S. Coast Guard is urging the public to practice caution as high seas, strong winds and rain arrive in the San Francisco Bay Area today.

Wind gusts as high as 49 mph are possible from the south and may create dangerous water conditions.

The U.S. Coast Guard recommends that individuals avoid going near low-lying beaches as well as into the water during storm conditions.

Vessel owners and operators are urged to take extra precautions in anticipation of the forecast by addressing mooring safety and securing potential sources of marine pollution.
