A suspect wanted in connection to a residential robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in Oakland was taken into police custody late Thursday night, according to Oakland police.

San Francisco and Oakland police officers responded to the 1600 block of Van Ness Avenue, which is near California Street at 10 p.m. in search of the wanted suspect, police said.

With the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department, Oakland police took the suspect into custody, police said.
