traffic.transit.jpgEmergency sewer repair in San Francisco will create some traffic diversions along The Embarcadero this week, according to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

Pile driving and associated work for the sewer repair project will force crews to close one northbound lane of The Embarcadero between Howard and Washington streets, according to the SFPUC.

The work is scheduled between 10 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday Wednesday and Friday, and between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.

Traffic detours will be in effect and motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

The pipeline being rehabilitated is responsible for transporting 30 percent of San Francisco’s sewage, according to the SFPUC.
