tape.jpgIt’s been a slow news week when the main thing sustaining most Bay Area media outlets is the fact that it rained a bit. Luckily the San Francisco Mixtape Society is here to shake things up with their final event of the year at the Makeout Room on Sunday, December 2.

The three year old SF Mixtape Society is “dedicated to the art of making new friends and exchanging music mixes” with each quarterly event and mix based off a different theme. This time it’s the aptly weather-themed “Snow Daze.”

Mixtapes are accepted on any format, but only with a cassette can you get a free beer from the Mixtape Society. All mixtapes submitted the day of the event will be judged in two different categories: Audience Choice (as selected by popular vote) and Best Packaging (as selected by judges). There’s also a Best Mix Tape prize up for grabs if you pre-submit your mix. All three categories offer prizes from sponsors SF MOMA, Four Barrel Coffee, Matador Records, Holiday Matinee, and more.

For more information on SF Mixtape Society and to pre-submit a mixtape for the Best mix Tape Award visit their website at sfmixtapesociety.com.
