policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was critically injured when he was stabbed in the neck with a pocketknife during an altercation in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, police said today.

The stabbing was reported around 12:35 p.m. near Ellis and Hyde streets.

The 46-year-old victim got into a fight with another man, who pulled out the knife and stabbed him in the neck, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, described as a man about 40 years old, fled on foot and had not been found as of this morning, police said.
