Football fans can take a guided tour of San Francisco’s historic Candlestick Park stadium today.

The hour-long tour will include a behind-the-scenes look at team locker rooms, the view from the luxury suites and a run on the field, according to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.

Candlestick Park, built in 1960 as a baseball stadium for the San Francisco Giants, has a capacity of 70,000 and is the second oldest stadium in the National Football League, officials said.

Tours will be available Monday to Friday at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at 11 a.m. To book a tour call (415) 819-6498 or email Amanda Tugwell at Amanda.tugwell@sfgov.org.

I highly recommend this tour to everyone! Even if you don’t like football or baseball you can still get great enjoyment from learning some very interesting facts and information. This is easily the best tour of any sporting facility I have ever been on and cannot stop telling my friends about it. Check out a piece of SF history and have some fun!
