According to a press release sent to media, at around 9:50 PM the night of August 21st, officers from Bayview Station responded to reports of a man lying in the roadway at the intersection of Alameda St. and San Bruno Ave.

The victim, a 36 year old male from SF is still in the hospital.

SFPD believes that the victim was caught in a hit and run, struck by a white compact two-door SUV similar to a Toyota Rav-4, with a spare tire encased in a white hard cover attached to the rear of the car.

Information gathered during the investigation indicates the driver steered to hit the victim on purpose before fleeing the scene, police said.

Police have obtained information that placed the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Alameda and San Bruno between 9:40 p.m. and 9:55 p.m.

Anyone with any information on this incident is encouraged to contact Inspector Kevin Horan of the Mission Station Investigation Team at (415) 558-5404, the Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or by texting a tip to TIP411 with the start of the message reading “SFPD.”
