police-light-bar1.jpgA teenage boy was killed in a motorcycle crash in San Francisco’s Silver Terrace neighborhood on Sunday evening, police said.

The crash was reported around 7 p.m. Sunday near Thornton Avenue and Venus Street.

The teen has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 17-year-old John James.

James, a San Francisco resident, was driving the motorcycle and had a passenger on the bike when he collided with an SUV, police said.

Both James and the passenger were ejected from the motorcycle. James landed on a parked car and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
