A man who was struck by a BART train at the Glen Park station in San Francisco on Saturday has died, an agency spokesman said today.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was hit around 2:20 p.m. Saturday by a Richmond-bound train entering the station, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

Emergency crews extricated the man and took him to San Francisco General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that day, Allison said.

It was the second such incident on BART tracks in less than 24 hours. A person also struck at the Lake Merritt station in Oakland at about 2:50 p.m. Friday but survived, Allison said.
