sfpd_squad.jpgA man was hospitalized after being pistol-whipped during a robbery at a business in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said.

The robbery was reported at 9:49 p.m. in the 2400 block of San Bruno Avenue.

When the robber entered the business and took out a handgun, the victim tried to take the gun from the suspect’s grasp and was struck on the side of the head with it, according to police.

The suspect then took money from the cash register and ran to a vehicle driven by another person. The pair, described as men in their 30s, fled and had not been found as of this morning.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not life-threatening.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
