gavel.jpgAn 18-year-old man arrested last week on suspicion of a July fatal shooting at the Alice Griffith public housing complex in San Francisco’s Bayview District pleaded not guilty to murder charges today, prosecutors said.

Demauriae Young pleaded not guilty in San Francisco Superior Court to charges of murder with the allegation of a personal use of a firearm. He will return to court on Monday to set a date for the preliminary hearing, district attorney’s office spokesman Alex Bastian said.

Young was arrested on Aug. 8 in connection with the killing of Henry Tautolo, 22, who was gunned down at about 9 p.m. July 20 in the first block of Nichols Way.

Citing the ongoing investigation, police and prosecutors were not immediately releasing more details about the shooting and what led to the arrest of Young, who remains in custody in lieu of $5 million bail.
