10:04 AM 8/1: A man who was fatally shot in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood on Tuesday night has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as
46 26-year-old Edmundo Sandoval.
Sandoval and another man were standing in front of a building in the 3000 block of San Bruno Avenue around 10 p.m. when two suspects opened fire on them, according to police.
The suspects, described as men in their 20s, then jumped into a waiting car driven by a third person and fled the scene, police said.
They had not been found as of this morning, and neither had their car, described as a white four-door vehicle.
Sandoval was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim suffered a gunshot wound to his chest but is expected to survive.

11:19 PM 7/31: Police are searching for at least two suspects in a shooting that killed one and left another with life-threatening injuries in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood tonight.
The shooting was reported at 10:03 p.m. in the 3000 block of San Bruno Avenue, Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The two victims were standing in front of a building there when two men in their 20s opened fire at them before fleeing the scene and jumping into a waiting car.
The suspects’ car was described as a four-door white vehicle, Shyy said.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, Shyy said.
Police are continuing to investigate tonight.
