shooting_nighttime.jpgSan Francisco police are investigating a shooting in Potrero Hill this afternoon, a police spokesman said.

Shots were fired shortly before 2 p.m. in the area of Connecticut and Wisconsin streets. No one appears to have been injured in the shooting.

Police detained someone in connection with the shooting after stopping a speeding car at 16th and De Haro streets, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza.

Officers performed a high-risk stop when approaching the vehicle, Esparza said. A woman who works near the intersection said officers had their guns drawn, and that they took a tall man wearing a white shirt into custody.

Police were canvassing the area this afternoon looking for potential victims, Esparza said.

Shell casings were found in the 900 block of Connecticut Street, and part of the street was shut down for the investigation.

One of the bullets appeared to have struck a white Ford Explorer parked on Connecticut Street.
