3:05 PM: A suspicious package reported in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset neighborhood this afternoon has been deemed harmless, a police spokesman said.

The package was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Irving Street and Arguello Boulevard.

Officers responded and told people in nearby homes and businesses to shelter in place, and surrounding streets were shut down, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

However, the package was determined to be harmless and the scene was cleared a short time later, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The incident disrupted service on San Francisco Municipal Railway’s N-Judah line. Bus shuttles supplemented service in the affected area, Muni spokeswoman Kristen Holland said.
