Hospital officials are asking the public to help identify an elderly Asian woman who was severely injured in a DUI collision when she was crossing a San Francisco street last week.

The woman was admitted to San Francisco General Hospital on June 8 around 11:30 p.m. after she was hit by a car at the corner of Vallejo Street and Van Ness Avenue, hospital spokeswoman Rachael Kagan said.

The woman is in her 70s or 80s with gray hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.

She is unable to tell staff her name and other efforts to identify her have been unsuccessful.

Police said the woman was crossing Van Ness Avenue against the light when she was struck by a four-door black sedan driven by a 41-year-old man.

The man stopped after the crash but was arrested on suspicion of DUI, police said.

Anyone with information about her identity is asked to call the hospital’s sheriff’s department at (415) 206-6063 or the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
