8 PM: San Francisco Municipal Railway service has resumed regular service after an incident caused overhead wires to fall onto San Francisco’s Market Street late this afternoon.

The crash was reported at 4:07 p.m. at the intersection of Market and Fifth streets, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Three people suffered minor injuries and were treated and released.

Muni officials were not immediately available for comment, but the agency’s Twitter feed said regular service had resumed as of 7:45 p.m. and shuttle buses would remain in place until service had normalized.

5:16 PM: Two people were taken to the hospital after an incident caused overhead wires to fall onto San Francisco’s Market Street late this afternoon, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The crash was reported at 4:07 p.m. at the intersection of Market and Fifth streets, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Talmadge said.

She did not immediately have more details on the nature of the incident.

San Francisco Municipal Railway officials were not immediately available for comment, but the agency’s Twitter feed said that all Muni bus service in the “affected area on Market street is being rerouted.”
