sfpd_squad.jpgA man was critically injured in a stabbing in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said.

The stabbing was reported at 8:54 p.m. in the 400 block of Stevenson Street, which is near 5th Street.

The 54-year-old victim got into an argument with the suspect, a man who he knows. The suspect then stabbed him in the chest with a knife and ran away, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, described as a man in his mid 30s, had not been found as of this morning, according to police.
