Marvel’s The Avengers 3D – Everywhere
Whiz kid Joss Whedon directs this final melding of all the Avengers characters. It looks like loads of fun and bright and shiny and I’m sure contains more than a few zingers. It’ll rain box office gold (ouch!) which means that for the rest of our days, we’ll be stuck watching movies based on comics and we should just surrender to our hybrid nerd-Hollywood smarm overlords. It’s all gonna be fine.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – Everywhere
This foray into “white people find their authentic sense of self via exotic and spiritual India” stars all the the old British actors (ALL OF THEM). It’s also about aging gracefully and life lessons and should probably be called Old People Can Eat, Pray, Love, Too! It’s sweet and charming in the way that any movie starving old British people should be and definitely worth a watch if that’s your thing, you sentimental fool. Also, now that octogenarians are going to India in search of enlightenment, does that mean this meme has officially jumped the shark and can now die? Please?
Marley – Embarcadero
A grand, expansive documentary about the life and times of the music and the man. If you care about Marley, you’ll definitely see this so you don’t need convincing but if you’re not a fan, this could convert you. And then you’ll probably start smoking weed all day and buy a communal hot tub and dread colorful beads into your dirty hair and become a big old peace-loving hippie asshole. Documentaries: THAT’S HOW THEY GET YOU.

Go see the best student work from The Academy of Art University’s School of Motion Pictures & Television and The School of Acting. It’s our film viewing future, we must support them!
