sfpd_arrestcuffs.jpgTwo men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Western Addition earlier this month, a police spokesman said.

James Earl Lee, 54, was shot shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Friday May 11 in the 1100 block of Turk Street near Laguna Street. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

A second victim, a 27-year-old woman, was also shot but survived, according to police.

Evidence recovered at the scene as well as information developed during the investigation led to the identification of Kenneth Chappell, 33, and Curtis Cail, 20 (pictured above), as suspects in the shooting, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Chappell and Cail, both San Francisco residents, were brought to the Hall of Justice for questioning last Friday and later placed under arrest, Esparza said.

The pair have both been charged with murder and made their initial appearance in court this afternoon but did not enter a plea. They will return to court to be arraigned on Friday morning.
