sfpd_squad.jpgA man was robbed and slashed in the hands while using a pay restroom in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza early this morning, police said.

The incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. near Larkin and Grove streets.

The 57-year-old victim was inside the restroom when a suspect entered and took out a pocketknife, according to police.

A struggle ensued, during which the suspect cut the victim several times on his hands and took money from his pocket, police said.

The suspect, a man believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, fled and had not been found as of this morning, police said.

The victim was treated for the lacerations to his hands at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
