money.jpgTwo banks were robbed within minutes of each other in San Francisco’s Laurel Village Shopping Center this afternoon, a police spokesman said.

The robberies were reported at 2:06 p.m. and 2:10 p.m. at separate banks in the 3400 and 3500 blocks of California Street, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police believe the same man committed both robberies, Esparza said.

The suspect, who remains at large, was described as a white man with a mustache.

Witnesses in one of the banks said he was between 30 and 40 years old, but people in the other bank said he might have been closer to 50, according to Esparza.

No one was injured in either robbery and no weapon was seen, Esparza said.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
