policeblotter_sfa.jpgIt appears that something else was going down just as post-Bay-to-Breakers festivities were getting going this past Sunday. Police say the fight that led to life-threatening injuries for a man in Golden Gate Park might have been between opposing Bay To Breakers factions, and are asking for witnesses to come forward.

The assault occurred at 4:56 PM. in the Sharon Meadows area of the park, near the Sharon Art Studio and tennis courts, police said.

The 31-year-old victim was with friends who had attended the Bay to Breakers race earlier that day. He and his friends were dressed as troll dolls, according to police.

They were standing near a second group of about 12 males and females when the two groups began to argue, police said.

A male from the second group came from the side and punched the victim, who fell and struck his head on the ground and lost consciousness.

Police said some of the females in the attacker’s group were wearing purple and one was wearing an orange tutu, while the males were wearing red and white 49ers jerseys.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries, and has not regained consciousness since the attack.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have pictures or video footage from the area around that time to come forward.
