Two men are dead after two separate shootings Friday night, raising San Francisco’s number of homicides for the year to 24.
At around 7:30 Friday night, a man was shot near Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street in the city’s Oceanview neighborhood.
The victim, believed to be around 24 years old, died at the scene, police said.
Police said the victim was chased by two male suspects and shot multiple times in front of, reports ABC7, a family resource center.
According to Appeal reader A, the M-Oceanview Muni line was stopped in both directions as police investigated the shooting. The SFMTA confirms this report, eventually sending shuttle buses to run a detoured route around the scene.
In a second incident, SFPD responded to the 1100 block of Turk Street, which is near Laguna, at 9:38 p.m. and found a 54-year-old San Francisco man and a 27-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
Both victims were taken to a hospital, where the male victim was pronounced dead. The female victim is expected to survive, according to police.
No suspects are in custody, nor is any suspect information immediately available in either case, police said.
