wave.jpgA child was rescued from the waters off of Crissy Field this afternoon, according to San Francisco fire officials.

Firefighters were called to the beach on San Francisco’s northern waterfront around 1:30 p.m. today.

The 12-year-old child was pulled from the water alive and transported to California Pacific Medical Center for treatment. The child was not seriously injured, a fire dispatcher said.

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter assisted in the rescue, the dispatcher said.
