policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was beaten with a baseball bat and robbed in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood early this morning, police said.

The robbery was reported at 1:50 a.m. on Sixth Street between Market and Mission.

The 24-year-old victim was riding his bicycle when a suspect grabbed his bicycle tire, according to police.

Three men and a woman then began beating the victim, including one who used a baseball bat, police said.

The suspects, all believed to be in their 20s, stole the man’s smartphone and fled. They had not been found as of this morning, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for lacerations to his head and is expected to survive, police said.
