From 8 p.m., Friday through 5 a.m., Monday, the SFMTA will continue the track work on the N Judah Line on Duboce Avenue between Noe and Belcher streets, including the demolition of trackwork from 8pm, Friday until 1 a.m., Saturday. The Carl Street project will include track work on Carl Street from the track crossover on Hillway Avenue to just east of Willard. Maintenance of Way track switch replacement will take place on Judah Street at 31st Avenue and at 48th Avenue; the related traffic and parking impacts will be in place from 9 a.m., Friday until 3 p.m. Monday.

Traffic Impacts
The construction will require the closure of Duboce Avenue between Noe and Belcher streets.

Steiner and Sanchez streets will be closed at Duboce Avenue.

Eastbound Carl Street will be closed between Hillway Avenue and Stanyan Street.

Judah Street at 31st and 48th avenues will require partial lane closures in both directions at those intersections.

Traffic control officers and police officers will direct traffic at critical intersections.

Street parking will not be available in and around the construction sites.

Temporary bus stops on Frederick Street (two at Cole and one at Stanyan) for the N bus shuttles will require parking removal as will a bus stop on the northwest corner of Market and Church streets, Belcher Street between 14th and Duboce streets and equipment staging on 30th, 31st, 32nd and 47th avenues near Judah.

Local access will be granted and all local businesses will remain open.

Bike routes 30 (the “wiggle”), 47 (the Steiner/Sanchez route) and 50 (the connector route between the wiggle and eastbound Market Street) will be affected at the Church and Duboce construction area. Detour signs will be posted.

Muni Service Impacts
N Judah Bus Shuttles

N Judah bus shuttles will operate all weekend between Ocean Beach and Church Street.
The first outbound stop will be on the northwest corner of Market and Church streets
The first outbound accessible stop will be on 14th Street at Church Street.

From La Playa to Arguello the N buses will follow the regular N Line route.

East of Arguello the N service will re-route around the construction and street closure.
The service will run as an express between Cole and Frederick and Castro and Duboce.
N Owl

N Owl bus service will be rerouted from Carl Street onto Frederick Street.

SFMTA Ambassadors will be in the area to provide information and to assist customers at transfer points.

Ruth Jackson Family Day Parade & Festival
On Saturday the 14th annual Ruth Jackson Family, Friends and Community Day Festival will take place.

Beginning at 9:45 a.m. parade participants will gather at Santos Street and Velasco Avenue. At 10 a.m. the parade will move north on Santos Street, east on Sunnydale Avenue, north on Cora Street, then west on Visitation Avenue to Hahn Street. The parade will end at approximately at 1 p.m. at Herz Playground.

The following Muni routes and lines will be affected by the parade as early as 9:30 a.m.:

Little League Parade

On Saturday San Francisco Little League Baseball will open the 2012 season with a parade from the Presidio to Marina Middle School.
Beginning at 10 a.m. the parade will leave the Presidio Main Post through the Gorgas Gate, turn south on Lyon Street and proceed east on Union Street to Laguna Street, north to Chestnut Street, west to Divisadero, through the neighborhood and back to Bay Street to disband in the school parking lot.

San Francisco Police Officers will monitor the parade for necessary street closures.

Tibetan National Uprising Day March and Rally
On Saturday rallies followed by a march to commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day will take place at Justin Herman Plaza at 10 a.m.

The march will begin at 11 a.m. and proceed on the following route: from Justin Herman Plaza, west on Market Street, west on Geary Boulevard, north on Powell Street, east on Post Street, south on Stockton Street, west back on Market Street, west on Grove Street, north on Polk Street, west on McAllister Street, north on Van Ness Avenue, west on Geary Boulevard and south on Laguna Street where the rally will take place at the Chinese Consulate.

San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) will close eastbound Geary Boulevard between Webster and Cleary streets from approximately 1 to 3 p.m.

SFPD officers and SFMTA traffic control officer will be on site to direct traffic.

North Beach Farmer’s Market Pilot
The North Beach Farmer’s Market Pilot will take place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Powell Street every Sunday beginning March 4 through May 6.

Powell Street between Columbus and Union streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The 39 Coit Muni Route will be affected.

Sunday Streets
The first of 10 Sunday Streets events will be held this Sunday along the northbound Embarcadero from King Street to Fisherman’s Wharf and down 3rd Street to Mission Bay. The 3.3-mile route will be available to pedestrians and bicyclists for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. These events are free to all participants.

The headquarters for the event will be located at Harry Bridges Plaza in front of the Ferry Building, where participants can get details about activities along the event route as well as free bike rentals and maintenance. Other key locations are Fisherman’s Wharf, East Park (south of Pier 39), Rincon Park, South Beach Park and Mission Bay Park (near Pier 52).

Detours from the Bay Bridge and Hwy 280 will be in place to assist travelers to the Fisherman’s Wharf area. Local access will be allowed to the piers via southbound Embarcadero or cross streets.

Start of Daylight Saving Time

On Sunday daylight saving time will commence at 2 a.m., requiring clocks to be set forward one hour.
All Muni service will continue to operate on standard time through the end of Owl service. Muni schedules will adjust to daylight saving time with the start of regular service on Sunday.
