sfo03.jpgA man wanted for attempted murder and other crimes in Las Vegas was arrested at San Francisco International Airport as he arrived on a flight from Mexico earlier this week, federal authorities announced today.

Adolfo Suarez, 20, was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers as he got off a flight from Guadalajara, Mexico, around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, CBP officials said.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had obtained a warrant for Suarez’s arrest on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery, and use of a firearm in a crime, authorities said.

He was immediately turned over to San Francisco police to initiate proceedings to extradite him to Las Vegas, CBP officials said.

“This is a prime example of the exceptional quality of our officers in the performance of their border security duties,” Reginald Manning, area port director for CBP in San Francisco, said in a statement.
