policeblotter_sfa.jpgA woman who had agreed to drive two men to the Powell Street BART station in San Francisco was beaten and robbed by the pair early this morning, police said.

The robbery was reported at 1:40 a.m. and involved a 50-year-old woman, according to police.

As the group arrived at Mission and Fifth streets, the victim got into an argument with the suspects, and one struck her several times on the top of her head with a flashlight, police said.

The woman was then robbed of her bracelet and cellphone, and the pair fled on foot. They had not been found as of this morning, according to police.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for a laceration to her head. She is expected to survive.
