missing.3.7.12.jpgSan Francisco police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing at-risk elderly man.

Jose Luis Ayerdis, 82, suffers from Alzheimers and was last seen at around 5:30 p.m. Monday when he left his home to go for a walk, police said.

Ayerdis left his home in the first block of Santa Rosa Avenue and was supposed to return within a half hour but did not return.

He is described as a Hispanic man, with balding gray hair, standing about 5 feet 7 inches and weighing about 170 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, blue sweater and gray pants. He was also wearing a black beanie with “San Francisco” written on the front in white, police said.

Police said Ayerdis is known to frequent Mission Street, between 16th and 24th streets, and the San Francisco Municipal Railway 14 and 49 bus lines.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Police Department at (415) 553-0123.
