shooting_nighttime.jpgA man was shot in the hip in an apparent road rage attack in San Francisco’s Hunters Point neighborhood on Wednesday morning, police said.

The shooting was reported at 9:05 a.m. near Evans Avenue and Jennings Street.
The 21-year-old victim and another person were in a car that was followed by another vehicle described as a dark Mitsubishi, according to police.

The driver of the Mitsubishi pulled up next to the victim’s car and a passenger opened fire, striking the victim in the hip, police said.

The Mitsubishi then drove off and the driver and passenger remain at large.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.
