pg&e_blackout(2).jpg10:28 AM: After a downed power line left thousands without power in San Francisco’s Mission District this morning, PG&E crews have restored electricity to all but 24 of those customers, a PG&E spokesman said.

The power line came down near the corner of 14th and Valencia streets at 7:20 a.m., knocking out power for 3,300 customers initially, PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.

At 9:10 a.m. all customers except for 24 had their power restored. Molica said that crews expect to have the final 24 customers’ power back by 11 a.m.

“We still do not know what brought that wire down. Our first priority is to get customers back online then we can do a thorough investigation,” Molica said.

9:13 AM: PG&E crews are working to restore power to about 1,000 customers in San Francisco’s Mission District caused by a downed power line this morning, a PG&E spokesman said.

The power line came down near the corner of 14th and Valencia streets at 7:20 a.m., knocking out power for 3,300 customers initially, PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.

As of about 8 a.m. power was restored for about 2,300 customers, but 1,000 customers were still without power as of 8:45 a.m.

“We’re working to get power back on for them before we start an investigation as to why that line came down,” Molica said.

After power is restored for as many customers as possible PG&E crews will begin final repairs on the downed line, Molica said.
