The remodeled Helen Diller Playground in Dolores Park reopened Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The remodeled playground features a central play mound that will have an ADA-accessible suspension bridge, built-in slide and climbing nets, custom-made shipwrecked boats, and a 40 foot slide built into the hillside behind the playground, according to San Francisco Recreation and Park officials.

It was remodeled with the help of a $1.5 miillion donation from the Merced Fund in honor of Diller, a Bay Area philanthropist, and funding from a city bond and the general fund.

Saturday’s ribbon cutting event included music and entertainment for families and children in the neighborhood.
