From 4:30 a.m., Sunday, to 4:30 a.m., Monday, the SFMTA will resume installation work on a new track switch on the L Taraval Line between 35th and 36th avenues. Some parking restrictions will begin at 7 a.m., Friday.

Chinese Community Street Fair
The Chinese Community Street Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday in Chinatown.

The following street closures will be required for the Street Fair from 11 p.m., Friday to 11 p.m., Sunday.

?? Grant Avenue between California Street and Broadway

?? Pacific Avenue between Columbus Avenue and Stockton Street

?? Jackson Street between Stockton and Kearny streets

?? Washington Street between Stockton and Kearny streets

?? Intersections of Jackson Street, Washington Street and Pacific Street on Grant Avenue

?? All alleys in the area bounded by California Street, Stockton Street, Broadway and Kearny Street

There will be heavy traffic in the area. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.

The following Muni routes will be affected:

?? 10 Townsend

?? 12 Folsom/Pacific

Phelan Loop Terminal Closure
On Saturday the Phelan Loop Terminal at Ocean and Lee avenues will be closed for construction.

The following Muni routes will be affected from 5 a.m. to the end of service hour:

?? 8X Bayshore

?? 49 Van Ness/Mission

Chinese New Year Parade
On Saturday at 5:15 p.m., the Chinese New Year Parade will start from 2nd and Market streets. The parade will travel west on Market Street, west on Geary Street, north on Powell Street, east on Post Street and north on Kearny Street to Columbus Avenue.

Staging of the floats will begin at 10 a.m. Staging for the rest of the parade will begin at 3 p.m. The following closures will be required.

?? 10 a.m. to approximately 5:15 p.m.:

o Main Street between Market and Folsom streets

?? 3 p.m. to approximately 5:15 p.m.:

o Market Street between Beale and 2nd streets

o 2nd Street between Market and Mission streets

Starting at 4 p.m. to approximately 11 p.m., Geary Street between Stockton and Powell streets will be closed for camera positioning for TV stations.

Cross traffic will be allowed within the staging area until 5 p.m.

After the parade clears an area and the streets have been cleaned, they will be opened to traffic.

Due to BART’s on-going construction work at Powell Street Station, the SFMTA recommends that parade attendees use Montgomery Street Station instead.
