Thomas Weed, 26, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Feb.

7 blast at 1228 Capitol Ave., near Ocean Avenue, according to police.

Investigators believe a butane tank exploded as drugs were being manufactured in the home. The blast caused a small fire that was quickly put out by responding firefighters.

Angelic Cisneros, 33, and her 12-year-old son were injured in the explosion, district attorney’s office spokesman Omid Talai said.

The boy’s injuries required him to get skin grafts on his face and body, police said.

Cisneros was arrested the following day and pleaded not guilty Friday to charges including recklessly causing a fire resulting in bodily injury, causing a fire to a structure, child endangerment, attempting to manufacture a controlled substance, and having a house used for drug sales and manufacture, prosecutors said.

Investigators later identified Weed as a second suspect in the explosion and obtained a warrant for his arrest on Friday.

He was arrested Tuesday with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service and was booked into jail, police said.

Prosecutors filed charges identical to those Cisneros is facing against Weed, and he will be arraigned Thursday afternoon.

Both Cisneros and Weed remain in custody in lieu of $350,000 bail.
