policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in San Francisco’s Financial District early Sunday has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 65-year-old Konstantin Perinsky.

The crash was reported at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at California and Battery streets, police spokesman Sgt. Daryl Fong said.

The driver of a pickup truck allegedly ran a red light while headed south on Battery Street and struck the Lincoln Town Car, which Perinsky was driving east on California Street, Fong said.

The truck driver got out of the vehicle and ran away after the crash, police said. Perinsky was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver who fled, described as a large male, has not been found.
