A shooting in SF’s Bayview District last night killed one man, while the suspects remain at large.

SFPD responded to the first block of Osceola Lane at 9:11 Tuesday night, where they discovered a 30-year-old African-American man dead of, police believe, gunshot wounds to his chest and arm.

According to SFPD, the victim, first named by SF Weekly as Derek Hall, was standing outside when the two men suspected of killing him approached him and shot him numerous times, then fled the scene.

SFPD spokesperson Sgt. Daryl Fong described the suspects only as African-American males wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

This is SF’s 6th homicide of 2012.

Anyone with information about this shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
