police-light-bar1.jpgA 17-year-old boy was critically injured when his car overturned in San Francisco’s McLaren Park on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The crash was reported at about 3:40 p.m. Saturday on Mansell Street at John F. Shelley Drive.

The teen, who had an 18-year-old passenger in his car, was speeding on Mansell Street when he lost control of the vehicle, according to police.

The car hit a guardrail and flipped, and the 17-year-old suffered a serious head wound. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.

The passenger suffered a minor head injury and was also taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
