sfpd_squad.jpgA woman had her purse snatched near the Balboa Park BART station in San Francisco on Monday morning, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 11:55 a.m. near San Jose and Geneva avenues.

The 24-year-old woman was walking when she felt a tug on her purse. She turned around to find a man who demanded that she let go of the purse, according to police.

The victim did so, and the suspect fled with the purse, which contained an Apple iPad and a wallet with cash and credit cards, among other items, police said.

The victim was not injured in the robbery.

The suspect, a man in his late 20s or early 30s, has not been found. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
