A popular local DJ seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision while riding his bike early Sunday morning reportedly remains in SF General’s the Intensive Care unit Tuesday.

The cyclist, identified by the SFBG as popular DJ Toph One (aka Toph Kerpan Evans) was struck shortly after midnight near the corner of Ocean and Geneva avenues near City College of San Francisco, San Francisco police officer Albie Esparza said.

Witnesses said the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene. “The bicyclist fell on the street and then the car hit the cyclist and drove off,” Officer Albie Esparza told SF Weekly.

According to the SFBG, though Evans remains hospitalized with a broken pelvis, he’s apparently recovering well.

One friend of Evans’ reports that a surgeon said that “he’d need reconstructive surgery this week, then 6-10 weeks of pt — and seemed confident toph would be okay.”

SFPD does nto have any suspect information at this time, but anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
