pg&e_blackout(2).jpgSome PG&E customers in San Francisco were without power this morning because of a planned outage to upgrade some electrical circuits, a PG&E spokesman said.

The outage affected 181 customers in the city’s Western Addition and Laurel Heights neighborhoods and began at about 9 a.m., PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.

Molica said the outage was scheduled to last about two hours and that the affected customers were notified in advance.

“To safely install the equipment, we had to de-energize,” Molica said.

He said city officials and the Police Department were also notified.
