woman.jpgPro-choice and anti-abortion activists are both planning to march in downtown San Francisco Saturday on the 39th anniversary of the controversial Roe vs. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision.

The West Coast Rally for Reproductive Justice is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Justin Herman Plaza.

The event will feature music, speakers and activities for kids until 1 p.m. and organizers say tents will be available to help protect participants from the rain. Planned speakers include state Assemblyman Mark Leno and Supervisor David Chiu.

Anti-abortion activists, meanwhile, will be rallying at Civic Center Plaza. An information fair is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and a rally at 12:30 p.m., followed by the eighth annual Walk for Life West Coast.

The march is scheduled to head down Market Street toward Justin Herman Plaza around 1:30 p.m., according to organizers.

Anti-abortion activists also held the annual Standing Up 4 Life walk in Oakland today.
